Instructions and warnings
The Heat Warden Heat Deflectors come fully assembled. The Heat Deflector and Side Shields may be shipped with a protective plastic coating on one side and should be removed at room temperature prior to use. The Side Shields must be added or removed as needed and attach or detach with two screws. Some customers insert the screws with the threads up to allow the Side Shields to be added or removed easier. Solo Yukon Owners will need to invert these screws in order for the Side Shields to have enough clearance from the Yukon.
Salt water and chlorine warning: Both can be corrosive to stainless steel. If you live near salt water, store the Heat Warden between uses to limit exposure. Do not store the Heat Warden with or near pool chlorine.
Gas fire pits should contain fire glass, lava rocks, or ceramic logs. We recommend using ceramic logs for the radiant heat they produce. The legs should rest on the fire pit structure and not inside the pit on the glass or rocks. Having said that, some customers have used decorative block on the inside to rest the legs on. Do not move the unit until it has had time to cool. Stainless steel will naturally patina over time due to the heating and cooling of the metal.
IMPORTANT: After use, the Heat Warden Heat Deflectors or Side Shields will be HOT and must be allowed to cool for 30-45 minutes before handling. Light fire pit on low BEFORE carefully placing Heat Warden Heat Deflector on top. Fire pit can then be turned higher. As always, when working with an open flame use good judgement when using the Heat Warden products

PATIO FAMILY (HEAT WARDEN) MAKES NO WARRANTY IN RESPECT TO MERCHANTABILITY OR WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED BY LAW, COURSE OF DEALING, COURSE OF PERFORMANCE, USAGE OF TRADE OR OTHERWISE. BUYER ASSUMES ALL LIABILITY IN USE OF THE EQUIPMENT.
